Killigrew

Winter woollens.

Killigrew has a knack for fusing comfort and sophistication. Designed in Canada and manufactured in Peru, the fashion and sportswear brand was established by mother and son team Cleo and Mitchell Darragh in 2008; they launched with a line of T-shirts and polos in 2010 after dedicating two years to researching fabrics and production facilities in Peru.

The Darraghs’ latest addition to the Killigrew line is a collection of cardigans made from 100 per cent Peruvian baby alpaca wool, ideal for keeping warm through winter’s chill. With drastic temperature changes in the Andes mountains, the fine fibre of the alpaca’s coat is lightweight, yet remarkably thermal, and the garments are hypoallergenic, wrinkle and water-resistant, and become softer over time with wear. The buttoned toppers are available in two styles: houndstooth-patterned Gabriel is trimmed with coloured lapels and pockets in shades of blue, burgundy, and black; Sam is colour-blocked in brown and grey hues. A third style, David, is made from Merino wool, with red stripes adding a pop of colour to winter neutrals. All three cardigans are a versatile layering piece for any season.
