Nothing is at once so fine and so humble as a well-made pie, nor quite as accommodating (for breakfast, dessert, or a midday snack, pie works equally well). In order to determine our nation’s best, we turned to judges in Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, and Toronto to narrow down their respective cities’ finest offerings. After testing the flakiness of crusts, assessing filling flavours, and considering consistency, we present an aptly compiled list of our nation’s top sweet and savoury slices.
