The Tiffany 1837 Collection

Tiffany & Co. adds alchemy to their repertoire with the launch of Tiffany 1837, a new collection crafted primarily from a new jeweller’s metal called Rubedo. Lightweight and radiant, Rubedo is composed of gold, silver, and copper. (This isn’t the first time Tiffany has forayed into the world of metallurgy; they were the first American company to incorporate the 925/1000 British standard of sterling silver purity that was later adopted by the United States government.) The range—a cuff, a contoured ring, a necklace, and a pendant of interlocking Rubedo and sterling silver circles—makes its debut in March as part of Tiffany & Co.’s ongoing 175th anniversary celebrations.
