Founded in 1967, Copenhagen-based design house Gubi honours the golden era of Danish design with its new Multi-Lite Collection—a minimalist pendant lamp series available to two sizes and seven finishes, inspired by the 1972 drawings of Danish architect and designer Louis Weisdorf. In his original concept for the lamps, Weisdorf shielded the eye from direct glare at all angles using cylindrical shapes and quarter-spherical opposing shades, creating a dynamic “multi-light”. This not only adds warmth to any domestic setting, but allows for a variety of lighting options within a room, as each shade can be individually rotated to face different directions. Timeless and luminous, Gubi’s Multi-Lite collection pays brilliant homage to Denmark’s iconic design history.
