First Images of Sunseeker Predator 60 EVO Released

A day at sea.

After the concept boat drew rave reviews at the Southampton Boat Show, Sunseeker International this week released the first photos of its all-new Predator 60 EVO production model.

As the successor to Sunseeker’s wildly successful Predator 57, the Predator 60 EVO is the first model to come out of the legendary British boat-builder’s major new product development plan. Given that the Predator 57 was arguably the most popular boat in the company’s history, Sunseeker took a real risk embracing such a bold design direction. Yet if initial reaction is anything to go by, it was definitely the right call as the company has clearly hit this one right out of the park.

It starts with bold exterior styling with an all-new window line on the superstructure, which is topped off by a carbon-fibre hardtop with a powered glass moonroof that floods the interior with natural light even when it’s closed. Moonroof is not really the right term here because the top opens to such an extent it would be more accurate to call this boat a convertible. You also have the option of opening up the back of the salon by dropping the rear cockpit door, which retracts completely into the floor so that indoor and outdoor spaces flow together seamlessly.

The furniture and upholstery work on the 60 EVO deserve special mention for they’re over the top—even by Sunseeker standards. In the cockpit, there’s a massive J-shaped lounge seat with a huge sunpad aft, while up in the salon an all-new interior layout features a huge U-shaped lounge facing the double-wide helm seat. Overall, it’s a more sophisticated, modern, and sporty style than that of its predecessor.

The helm console looks more like something out of a private jet than a boat dash and reflects the wider focus on technology that we’re going to see on all future Sunseeker models. A pair of huge Simrad touchscreen multi-function displays dominate the helm, replacing the old-school dial gauges, while a smaller LED display left of the sport steering wheel presents critical engine data. Space to the left provides a wireless charging pad for a cellphone and a spot for an iPad, while to the right of the fly-by-wire steering wheel the engine controls—including a joystick for precise docking—sit perfectly positioned for comfort and control.

Step below and you’ll find six berths in three cabins, including a full-beam master stateroom with ensuite located amidships and an almost as sumptuous guest cabin far forward. There’s a third stateroom to starboard that’s perfect for the kids, plus a spacious dinette and a fully equipped galley with all the latest appliances, of course.

The Predator 60 EVO has a few more surprises out back, including a fully submersible hydraulic swim platform and a tender garage that fits a Williams Sportjet 345.

Available with a range of engine and drive systems, including the all new Volvo Penta D13-1000s that will push this beast to speeds of up to 34 knots, Sunseeker’s Predator 60 EVO is one boat that’s guaranteed to turn heads everywhere it goes. Want one? You better get on the waiting list, which is currently around seven months.
