Celebrate National Vermouth Day With These Cocktail Recipes From Ampersand Distilling Co.

Drink up.

In celebration of National Vermouth Day (June 19), Ampersand Distilling Co. has released a second limited-edition run of its Imperative Dry Vermouth, made in collaboration with Victoria winery Rathjen Cellars. The 2020 vermouth is a complex blend of ortega, petite milo, and schönburger grapes, and is infused with wild-harvested botanicals: wormwood, orange peel, cardamom, roasted dandelion root, and coriander. Each sip holds sustained and crisp floral notes, ideal for summertime weather. The spirit, which won bronze at the 2020 Canadian Artisan Spirit Competition, can be enjoyed over ice or included in a cocktail—or even served in ice cream: Vancouver’s Rain or Shine Ice Cream recently released a vermouth-infused basil and lime sorbet made with Ampersand’s Imperative Dry and a splash of Ampersand’s infamous gin.
