Harmony Arts Festival, 2016

West Vancouver welcomes back a favourite.

On July 29, 2016, music, literature, arts, and gastronomy are brought together for the 26th annual Harmony Arts Festival, an encompassing celebration before the dramatic shoreline of West Vancouver. The 10-day roster is panoptic: entertainment includes open-air concerts and projected star-lit movies in John Lawson Park, along with Canadian author Joseph Boyden, who will participate in this year’s Readings in the Park series. Art will be exhibited and sold in markets and Ambleside shop windows, and a series of art-focused workshops invite the curious to explore floral design, wood carving, en plein air painting, and more.

Globally-inspired fare will be served up at scattered food trucks, patios, and pop-up restaurants, but Mixology Night on the Pier hones an eye to local talent. The new event invites B.C. bartenders to surprise guests with creative cocktails to be imbibed in the seaside ambience particular to the Ambleside Pier. Also new this year is the Marina Club, an inclusive entertainment venue that offers menus from Raglan’s Bistro and live music nightly, located beside the pier and Pop-Up Marina, where yachters can moor their boat while the festivities are enjoyed.
